How It Works
- At the upper left is the NewGov logo: your home button from anywhere on the site.
- Super-Vote Me! takes you to the joining process.
- FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions.
- NewGov: Why? Why we need to manage our politicians.
- How it works: the many services that increase your influence.
- Elections (or Iowa Caucus) take to the Elections side of the site.
- Login lets you into the site once you are a SuperVoter.
- The purple menu bar is your gateway to information and actions like “Join” or “Sign in” to the site.
- See those 4 silhouettes at the top of the page? The large one is for your picture, since voters are more important than politicians. The three smaller silhouettes will be replaced by your representatives’ pictures when you declare your location.
- Two clicks on the map takes you to the policy development groups for your state and then your Congressional District. The name of the Group changes above the map as you go.
- At any Congressional District group, you can click the green “Set Home District” button. Then you can see your representatives, but they still won’t see you. Worse, they won’t listen to you because NewGov still can’t guarantee that you live and vote in their district.
- To make politicians pay attention to you, click “Super-Vote Me!” under the NewGov logo. You’ll then process a small credit card charge so that Google Checkout provides your Verified Billing Address which our robot (not us) matches to the official politicial maps. Your anonymous NewGov member name will be added to your politicians’ NewGov Briefing Books, which will be updated as you support causes, add content and rate other members’ content.
- Below every group’s map is the purpose statement for the Group.
- Below the purpose statement is the Group Blog. Once you’re a SuperVoter, you’re authorized to see and use the green Add a New Post button.
- Click the green Share button to share the Group with friends through other social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- Before you’re a SuperVoter, you’ll see a green Register button that enrolls you as a NewGov member with the right to rate and comment on SuperVoters’ work.
- Once you are a NewGov member, the Register button changes to Invite, to invite friends to join you on NewGov.
- Also on the right are My Issue Groups. These are the groups you join from the National Issues below. You can click and drag National Issues to your list. Five will show in your list and you can expand it to the entire list.
- Below National Issues are the SuperVoter groups. These are groups created by SuperVoters to promote their own causes.
- At the bottom of the column is a Calendar you can post events to for other users to see.
- At the bottom of each page is a menu bar with the following buttons:
- Partners - Companies that are integral in the operation of NG.
- Contact - How you can contact us with an idea, question, or report a bug you have found.
- Terms - The rules regarding conduct on the site.
- Privacy – The NewGov privacy policy.
Click around the site and see where you end up and what others are saying. If you get lost, click the NewGov logo to get back to the home page.
